    Here I am too...
First, I am sorry I can't write my review in Italian. :( Hope you all would understand it well.

Three LEGENDS, three new stars and a very very good professional House Band with Marco 'Pensa' Caviglia on the guitar.

I came in Italy very excited because it was my very first Pensa Day. Borgo la fornace is a small, but very elegant and relaxing SPA resort set in Tuscany's green heart. They has made a big organization with many surprises, very delicious food and wines, presents, great warm and very complaisant staff, doing everything for their guests to feel comfortable.

I won't post the set list of the 3 concerts, because I'm sure I'll miss some songs.

The 3 concerts were built in three parts each...

The first part was performed by Polly Wood & Steve Picken, and also by Fede ( we all know him well). I'm not surprised by them because I have seen them last October in London's Bush Hall and also in April for the Sergio Tacchini's night for the International Tennis Tour AOTP. Polly is a young but very talented singer and songwriter and Steve Picken is a fingers style guitarist, both from UK. They played some old and new songs all written by Polly. During the Pensa concerts their performance was very artistic, powerful and full of young energy. They owned the hearts of the whole audience from the very first note to the last. Their style - a mix of acoustic, rock, blues and some Latino tunes totally blowed the public away.

I was delighted so much by Fede's beautiful voice and very good guitar playing. I like his songs too much. BRAVO Fede!!

It was GREAT to see Maestro Steve Phillips right away after them keeping his spirit young and so lively with his amazing, convincing and really elegant style of playing, behavior and everything on the stage and on the real life. A real classical English gentleman with great smile, big heart and incredibly good with the guitar and singing.

The third part...well, they were John and Chris, with Marco and Solid Rock!!! WOW!!! What can I say...It was so inspiring to feel the BIG Dire Straits spirit again forced by both Dire Straits legends from the past - John and Chris, enjoying themselves so much together on the stage. I am a big fan of MK, die-hard fan of him I love so much all his DS and solo albums and concerts but I can't agree that Dire Straits is Mark Knopfler ONLY. He has never played ALONE on the stage and would not be that big without a band playing with him. (Please, don't kill me about that... :P :P :P LOL).

It was amazing to hear John saying in all concerts that he had a great BAND with him in Pensa day!! Thank you Marco & Solid Rock to be so good and proud to play with John Illsley!! So, for all who missed the concerts, keep your eyes on this site, because I'm sure it would not be the last time of John playing with these great guys!! MITICI!!! Thank you Marco for setting all these things together.

I would wish to thank personally to all memebers - Marco Caviglia, Primiano Di Biase, Fabrizio Bruzzichini, Salvatore Scorrano, Maurizio Meo and the other bassist who replaced Mauro. THANK YOU SOLID ROCK!! Really a great band!

I'm sending all my love to all friends from the forum or not - Fede, Davide ( ci siamo lost... :woot: LOL) and Nunzio, the beautiful Stefy and Cristina, Pensa Boy and his friend, Jurij, Farco (great video!!), Marisacche, Maffet. We had really very fun time together in Gambassi!!

Thank you Valerio, Gustavo, Kamelia and his friend Maria for the great company!!

See you all on the next Pensa Day!!
Missed Angelo and Ivan...a bit sad about that.

Thank you Borgo la Fornace and the sponsor MEYER !! I'm sure the charity concert will help to the children of l'OSPEDALE PEDIATRICO di FIRENZE!

Well, a little bit more breath....THANK YOU John Illsley, Maestro Steve and Chris - Maestro di saxophone...with his incredible modesty he refused to be Maestro, but I'm sure he IS because I receive on his site hundreds of mails by people inspired and learned to play the saxophone by the DS sax legend Chris White.

P.S. Will post some pictures later...WOW!! Che bella photo, Nunzio... :woot:

Yeah...I put some pictures tomorrow maybe - need some time to choose and edit.
BTW, I'm desperately in love with the first song played by Steve Phillips ( with the slide guitar) but can't remember the title. Somebody to remember me?

Si Angelo. the Telecaster is the one made by Davide. John liked it very much and he even wanted to try it. But I'm not sure for the sound check only or on the stage...Marco will confirm/or not...

Here is the soundcheck with it...

    ciao ragazzi,

    set list....

    con Steve:

see that my grave is kept clean
north country blues (Slavi.....this one is a new Steve's song and I agree it's an amazing song !!)
    statesboro blues
mississippi blues (da qui entra Chris)
    bewildered
    run me down
    don't explain
    it's all over now
    rambling on my mind
    will you miss me
    house rocking boggie
    his latest flame

Take a little walk with me"

    con John:

    walk of life
    expresso love
    1st we take Manhattan
    all I want is you
    so far away
    sultans of swing
I want to see the moon
where do you think you're going
    money for nothing
    going home - local hero
    route 66

il primo concerto la Pensa MK80 Maliblu....
il secondo concerto la Fender Relic 61
il terzo concerto Pensa Suhr MK1 e Fender Relic 61 x Route 66)

    il Maestro Steve ha usato:

    Gibson L50 del 1937
    his "sparkling" Beltona Elettroresonator

    io ho usato:

    per il set di Steve:
Pensa MK2 Bigsby e....primo e terzo concerto Fender Relic 61.....secondo concerto Pensa MK1 Koa
